 Dave and Me |
Here's just a little info about the person behind the Web site. My name is
Cindy and I'm from the Tampa, Florida area. I graduated from the University
of South Florida with a BA degree in Educational Interpreting. I have my
QA III and EIE III and am also a certified Deaf and hard of hearing teacher.
Presently I teach American Sign Language at a local High School.
I have been interpreting since 1995 and for five of those years I was an
educational interpreter at a middle school for 5 years. Previous to that my
work experience had been in the human service field. I worked with
individuals with mental retardation and also spent 4 years working in the
Mental Health Field. During my schooling I was Vice-President of the ASL
Club at USF and President for two years. I have also been involved in many
workshops and ASL/Deaf related expo's.
On a personal note I have been married for 16 years to the person who
designed my Web site. We have no children, well that's not true, we have a
little girl named Daisy (Cocker Spaniel) and two big boys, Bruce and Harvey
(Boxers) and we cannot forget our other boy, Mickey who passed away from
bone cancer.
It is my hope that you will find my Web site beneficial in your quest for
knowledge in ASL and Interpreting as well as Deaf Culture. I also would like
to add that I am no expert - I don't claim to have more knowledge than other
interpreters or members of the deaf community. With that said you can learn
about why I have a Web site here.
